Kenya tea production is almost exclusively CTC manufacture (cut, twist and curl). This type of manufacture produces strong-liquoring teas, which yield a high number of cups per kilo, when brewed both loose and in teabags. Kangaita Tea Factory is one of the Factories managed by Kenya Tea Development Agency Ltd., serving small-scale tea growers in Kenya. Currently, Kangaita Tea Factory serves about 3,700 small scale tea farmers. Kangaita Tea Factory is located between the Rundu and Mukengeria rivers. Being so near the forest, the Factory receives clean unpolluted water tapped from the Mukengeria River. Extremely popular in British or Irish blends, Kenya tea producers also include Brooke Bond, George Williamson and others. Cut leaf tea exposes more leaf edges to hot water thereby making a stronger, quicker cup of tea with a smidge of bounce to it. Obviously, we highly recommend Kenya CTC.
